Your flight training journey

TEAM aviation is proud to train, endorse and share all things aviation with our clientele. Your personal journey to becoming a Private Pilot is made simple with TEAM Aviation’s hands on training and curated theory courses, built just for you. Below are the four milestone steps in any pilots journey, each offering more flexibility and freedom to the skies - once each achievement is unlocked.

  • The Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) is your first step as a pilot.

    Suitable for:

    People starting the flight training process. This will be your first pilot licence.

    What you will learn:

    How to fly a fixed-wing aircraft

    How to depart from, and arrive back to the departure airport

    What you can do with a RPL:

    Fly locally during the day

    Fly an aircraft weighing up to 1500kg

    Typical Investment:

    35 lessons, each lesson you can expect:

    • 0.5 hours in the simulator

    • 1.0 hours in the aircraft

    • 3.0-4.0 hours with an instructor

    $1,150.00 per session

    The RPL is typically $35,000-$40,000 in total.

  • The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) allows you to spread your wings and fly all over Australia.

    Suitable for:

    Pilot’s with an existing RPL wanting to fly cross-country or overseas

    What you will learn:

    How to navigate cross country

    How to fly through controlled and restricted airspace

    What you can do with a PPL:

    Fly cross-country

    Fly aircraft above 1500kg

    Internationally recognised qualification by ICAO

    Typical Investment:

    8-10 lessons, each lesson you can expect:

    • 2.5 hours in the aircraft

    • Half day with an instructor.

    $2,015.00

    The PPL component is typically $17,000 obtaining your RPL.

  • The Night VFR rating allows greater flexibility around what times you can fly.

    Suitable for:

    Pilot’s with a PPL wanting to fly at night

    What you will learn:

    How to fly at night

    How to navigate at night

    What you can do with a Night VFR rating:

    Fly at night in good weather

  • The Private Instrument Rating allows you to fly in non-visual conditions and conduct instrument approaches.

    Suitable for:

    Pilot’s wanting the flexibility of flying in less than perfect weather at any time of day.

    What you can do with an Instrument Rating:

    Fly in cloud

    Fly at night

    Conduct instrument approaches
